This cannabinoid might sound a little familiar because of the letters “THC” in it, but you’d be surprised to learn that it’s actually really different from regular THC. In fact, THCV tends to have a higher boiling point than regular THC, and it tends to be psychoactive when taken in high amounts. When understanding what Hemp-derived THCV is, you’ll want to keep in mind that it comes from the Hemp plant which tends to typically produce a milder experience.
Understanding THCV
Although its chemical structure is very similar to THC, the biggest difference is regular THC has a longer hydrocarbon chain than Tetrahydrocannabinol (THCV). Also, the type of experience that THCV produces tends to be a little different.
How THCV Is Made
The precursor to THCV is Cannabigerolic Acid (CBGA), and its parent molecule is Cannabigerovarinic Acid (CBGVA). While all these cannabinoids are derived from the Hemp plant, THCV is derived from a type of CBG cannabinoid. Moreover, Hemp strains that originated in Africa tend to have more THCV, but other strains can also have high amounts of THCV in them.
What is interesting in the process of THCV is that it usually forms when geranyl phosphate and a type of acid are combined. Once Tetrahydrocannabinol acid (THCVA) is formed it then is decarboxylated into a form of THCV. In other words, CBGA produces THCVA, then formed into THCV, but it all originates from the Hemp plant.
Experience With THCV
One of the biggest differences between THC and THCV is the fact that it tends not to produce a “high” when taken in low dosages. However, once you start to use higher amounts of THCV it tends to become psychoactive. Another notable difference with THCV is that it tends to suppress the munchies rather than increase it. What this means is that you shouldn’t expect to get weird cravings like you would with regular THC.
Just like Delta 8 THC, THCV tends to not trigger the same negative experiences that THC causes in some people. This can include anxiety or panic attacks associated with taking too much THC. Also, the experience that some people tend to have with high amounts of THCV is usually euphoric, but short-lived.
Zenergy Collection
Our new Zenergy collection not only features premium THCV but also has other high-profile cannabinoids. This blend of Hemp-derived cannabinoids includes Delta 8 THC, Delta 9 THC, Delta 10 THC, THCV, and CBG.
Delta-8 THC
We enrich most of our products sold on Delta Extrax with premium Delta-8 THC. This is because certain cannabinoids tend to be very potent on their own. Some can even be hallucinogenic if taken by themselves. Therefore, we like to enrich our products with premium Delta 8 THC in order to produce a more well-balanced high.
Delta-9 THC
Now, the name Delta-9 THC sounds awfully a lot like Marijuana THC. However, one thing to keep in mind is that it’s not. Our Delta-9 THC is compliant because it’s Hemp-derived + less than 0.3% on a dry weight. Although it may seem like not that much Delta-9 THC, it’s still enough to synergize with the other cannabinoids.
Delta-10 THC
This cannabinoid is more similar to Delta-8 THC than it is to Delta-9. However, it does offer a psychoactive experience that can be less intense than Delta 8 THC. This cannabinoid tends to focus more on the euphoric aspect of the THC experience. Also, when combined with other similar cannabinoids it has a lot to offer.
CBG
What’s great about this cannabinoid is that it acts a lot similar to CBD than it does to THC. In other words, this helps bring you back down from the other cannabinoids that might be uplifting. Unlike CBD, CBG is more associated with the uplifting properties so the experience is also more euphoric. Therefore, it made a lot of sense combining these cannabinoids together to form Zenergy.
Conclusion
Although our new Zenergy collection has more than just THCV, it’s important to know how these cannabinoids might interact with one another. At high amounts, THCV users tend to undergo an uplifting, euphoric type of experience. While Delta 8 THC helps balance that out, Delta 9 and Delta 10 provide a better headspace. Together, all these cannabinoids help balance each other out, while CBG is there to make sure you have a pleasant experience.
